Dear Graduate Freshers
Dear Old-Timers
I hope you all had a good summer, slaving away in dark und dusty archives, counting legionella in far-off realms, or desperately trying to scrape up the funds to pursue these or similarly entertaining pastimes. Some of you, I hear, have even indulged in the newfangled sport of holidaying. Crazy! Well, that's Oxford for you.
A particularly warm welcome to those of you who are new to Oxford, Christ Church, and the GCR. Your Committee will make every effort to help you settle in, find your way around, get to know others, and generally feel at home. Please do approach us with any questions you might have, of whatever nature. (Yes, the GCR rooms used to be occupied by Lewis Carroll and Einstein. No, the thing with the goat, the chicken, and the cardinal's hat only happens in leap years. Yes, some of us are still single.) If you don't spot us hanging around the House in a procastinatory manner drop us an email - addresses on this website.
We're intent on making this term an eventful, interesting and exciting one for all of you - watch this space! Also let us know about any ideas you have for events and activities. And if it all gets on top of you, feel free to request an emergency tea-and-biscuits session or a reassuring conversation over a glass of peaty, full-bodied single malt. I for one am usually up for it.
See you soon
