Welfare

Welfare@chchgcr.com

Male Reps:

Matthew.Fittall@chch.ox.ac.uk

Female Rep: Eleanor.Parker@chch.ox.ac.uk

Eleanor and I are your welfare reps and are always available my email if you need to chat or need pointing in the right direction for help in the college or university. We also run a bar night (Thirsty Thursdays) in the Common Room every Thursday night were GCR members can meet for chilled out chat over a beverage or two - great wind down after hall at the end of the week or wind up for those heading to the Bridge.

Other Welfare People in College:

The College Nurse
Jan Undery is available in college from 08.30-3.30pm everyday. Surgery hours are from 09.00-12.30 although she is available outside these times if necessary.
Her telephone contact number is: (01865 2)76176
e-mail:janet.undery@chch.ox.ac.uk

She provides Family planning advice (as well as free contraception and pregnancy tests), travel advice, smoking cessation, blood pressure checks and ear syringing and triage advice and referral on to other agencies as appropriate.
If you are too unwell to see her in the surgery, she will visit you in your rooms. She can arrange for meals to be sent from the kitchen for you in such circumstances. If you cannot reach her by telephone in her room she is always on 24 hour contact via the porters lodge.

The Chaplain
Ralph Williamson is really approachable for just about anything. A great listening ear about personal issues he is also familiar with most of the unfathomable workings of college so a great guy to have on your side if things are going awry.

“I am based in my room, Killcanon 1, where I can be found most days. I can be contacted there by email ralph.williamson@chch.ox.ac.uk, telephone (276236) or trusty pigeon post. My mobile number is displayed outside my door if you need me in a hurry.
I am often a first point of contact for people wanting to talk about their course, financial issues, family or friends, accommodation, issues within college life and harassment, as well as religious and spiritual things. I am happy to talk to people in confidence, and where appropriate may give advice about where to find further help.”

College Welfare Officer
Dr Mishtooni Bose is also available for pastoral and academic advice at either mishtooni.bose@chch.ox.ac.uk or on (01865 2)86570.

OUSU
OUSU also have their own welfare and graduate reps who are willing peer supporters and available if there are any issues you would rather keep out of college (though all the above will deal with everything confidentially as well). Find out more at their website http://ousu.org/
